2 drug suspects killed in Bulacan, Nueva Ecija stings

Two drug suspects were killed and several sachets of suspected shabu were seized during buy-bust operations in Bulacan and Nueva Ecija early Tuesday, police reported.

Suspect Joselito Mag-isa alias “Tammy” was killed when he traded shots with operatives in Balagtas town, where he is listed as the number 1 drug personality, according to a report from the Bulacan provincial police.

Members of the Balagtas Police carried out the operation against Mag-isa in Brgy. Santol, around 1:20 a.m.

After the transaction, Mag-isa apparently sensed that the poseur-buyer was a policeman and noticed that other operatives were approaching, provincial police director Col. Lawrence Cajipe said.

Instead of submitting, Mag-isa ran inside his house and a brief chase ensued up to the roof, where he drew shot it out with the lawmen, said Cajipe.

Police recovered a caliber-.45 pistol still loaded with seven rounds of live ammunition, a loaded magazine, six sachets of suspected shabu, the buy-bust money, a sling bag, pouch, weighing scale, and a pair of scissors, at the site.

Around 2 a.m., suspect Jaymar dela Cruz was killed when also he shot it out with operatives who conducted a buy-bust in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija.

He had a still unidentified cohort who managed to escape during the shootout, according to a report from the Nueva Ecija provincial police.

Members of the city police conducted the operation in Zone 5, Brgy. Sto. Tomas.

Dela Cruz and his cohort apparently sensed that they were dealing with an undercover cop so they drew their guns and fired, prompting other operatives to retaliate, the report said.

Operatives seized a caliber-.38 revolver and 5 grams of suspected shabu at the scene.

Follow up investigation is ongoing to determine the identity of Dela Cruz’ cohort, who is said to have worn a black “hoodie” and escaped aboard a black motorcycle.
