MANILA — Lani Misalucha is officially a Kapamilya anew as she signed Tuesday a record deal with ABS-CBN Music.
The music veteran, dubbed “Asia’s Nightingale,” will release her new single, “I Can’t Give Anymore,” on January 31, 2020.
The track is part of her upcoming all-English album, which will roll out internationally as singles over the course of two years.
As part of the album’s promotions, Misalucha will appear in ABS-CBN television programs, including “ASAP Natin ‘To” and “It’s Showtime,” according to ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo.
“Iyon ‘yung maganda sa sitwasyon ko, puwede ako kung saan man,” Misalucha said, referring to her Kapamilya venture being concurrent with her television appearances in rival network GMA-7.
Misalucha similarly performed in ABS-CBN shows following the 2014 release “The Nightingale Returns,” her all-OPM album under ABS-CBN Music.
Misalucha, 50, said she is hoping to reach a new audience with her latest collaboration with the Kapamilya record label.
For one, the album is “geared for the global market,” Manalo said, pointing out it also involves a number of foreign composers and lyricists.
“I Can’t Give Anymore,” the lead single, was described a “modern ballad” with a message that’s relatable to young music fans.
“Hindi maiiwasan na mag-na-narrow ‘yung reach mo sa public,” said Misalucha, whose music career spans three decades.
“Unang-una, ‘yung type of music that I do, meron ng specific na market na nata-target. What we’re trying to do now is to reach out to young people through social media. We’re also doing a type of song na mas makaka-relate ang mga kabataan,” she said.
