Six children are injured after a vehicle drove into a daycare in Richmond Hill, police say.

The incident happened at around 3 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Yonge Street and Nottingham Drive, York Regional Police said in post on X, formerly Twitter.

One of the children was taken to hospital with serious injuries, they said.

Police are asking people to avoid the area and to expect significant delays. The intersection is currently closed, police said.
