Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Chief Arnell Ignacio is traveling with 76 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to the Philippines from war-torn Sudan.
Ignacio posted videos on his Facebook page bringing home the Filipinos via Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
He posted a 5-minute Facebook Live video casually talking to the Filipino workers that are about to be repatriated, at the airport in Riyadh, followed up by a TikTok video on board a flight that will bring them back to the Philippines.
The OWWA Administrator also had a photo with Philippine Ambassador to Egypt Ezzedin Tago before flying back.
Hours before Ignacio's flight, the OWWA confirmed that 17 Filipinos came home from Sudan via Jeddah, through Saudia Flight 870 on Wednesday night. They were the sixth batch of Filipinos repatriated from Sudan, which is currently facing a war between factions of their military.
