Aside from Jordan Clarkson of the Utah Jazz and Jalen Green of the Houston Rockets, there is one more player with Filipino roots currently seeing action in the NBA.
Philadelphia 76ers rookie Jared McCain said that he is “10 percent” Filipino.
“Shout out to my Asian community. [I’m] probably like 10% Filipino, but that counts,” he said in a video posted on ESPN.
Clarkson, who plays for Gilas Pilipinas in international tournaments, commented with a Philippine flag emoji.
He was selected by Philadelphia as the 16th overall pick of the 2024 Rookie Draft.
McCain is averaging 16.5 points per game, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.7 assists for the struggling 76ers squad.
