BAGUIO CITY– The Provincial Governor of Abra in the Cordillera Region tested positive for Corona Virus Disease on Saturday.
Abra Governor Joy Bernos narrated that she completed her quarantine on 5 March 5 and had taken the mandatory PCR test on the same day and she tested negative.
She went back to work on 7 March and even joined the ceremonies where she officially received the COVID-19 vaccines for the province. She also led the launching of the vaccine rollout at the Abra Provincial Health Office the next day.
She believed that she was exposed during those events.
Contact tracing is now being conducted. Bernos appealed to the public who had been exposed to her for the past seven days to report to the Rural Health Unit for PCR testing.
