Adiwang makes quick work of foe in ONE Thailand card

MANILA, Philippines — Rolling Thunder Kid.

Lito Adiwang dominated Eko Roni Saputra, knocking out the Indonesian in the less than a minute in their bantamweight MMA clash in ONE Fight Night 43 Saturday at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Thunder Kid thus recorded his second straight first round technical knockout victory.

When the bell rang, Adiwang did not waste any time, pouncing on his opponent with a fury of lefts and rights.

The Filipino fighter targeted Saputra’s body and head, not giving an inch to his opponent.

Later, the Indonesian missed an overhand right, and Adiwang continued to pour it on.

And after a combination landed on Saputra’s head, the referee called stopped contest after 36 seconds.

After the match, Adiwang said he close to a crack at the belt.

“I do believe that I'm just one win away for the title shot. And yeah, that's why I'm calling for the big names, big guys in flyweight division to prove myself that I'm worthy for the title shot,” he said.

He called out Chinese fighter Hu Yong, who is coming off a victory over Filipino Danny Kingad in February.

“My fire and dream is to become a champion here. So that's my gift for you [fans and supporters]. I will work hard and give a spectacular show and get that belt.”
