While she was elated to hear about a possible TV show collaboration with come backing superstar John Lloyd Cruz, Kapuso actress Andrea Torres says the project that they are rumored to headline together has yet to be officially confirmed.
In a virtual interview on GMA 7’s “24-Oras,” the Legal Wives star expressed excitement at the thought of sharing screen time with John Lloyd whom she has always dreamed of working with.
“Nagulat po and syempre natuwa kasi he’s a brilliant actor at fan din ako niya. Sa mga interviews ko lagi ko rin ‘yan binabanggit, na isa siya sa mga gusto ko makatrabaho, so if ever po malaking honor ‘yun for me,” Andrea said.
The two made the headlines this week when news of a possible partnership between them surfaced following TV host Willie Revillame’s pronouncements of his plans for John Lloyd.
According to reports, a sitcom is being cooked up for the two to mark the One More Chance actor’s television return.
In the story, Andrea will play John Lloyd’s love interest, reports said.
Rumors also have it that John Lloyd might be a co-producer of the said sitcom should it push through.
Interestingly, people are feasting on the idea of Andrea and John Lloyd teaming up given their intertwined romantic histories. John Lloyd’s former partner Ellen Adarna is now engaged to be married to Andrea’s ex-boyfriend Derek Ramsay.
John Lloyd… now a Kapuso?
The supposed sitcom will be a joint production between the GMA network and Wil Productions owned by Revillame.
Just as many were excited about the actor’s return, many were likewise shocked to learn that his comeback will most likely happen not with his former home network ABS-CBN but its rival GMA.
When John Lloyd left showbiz in 2017, ABS-CBN immediately issued a statement that the network’s prized talent will only be attending to “personal matters.”
His absence from showbiz was not without disfiguring controversies. At that time, his controversial still rumored romance with Ellen was believed by many as the reason for the actor’s split with former girlfriend Angelica Panganiban. It was also at that time when John Lloyd was seen with, as many say, untoward behavior prompting his home network to issue such a statement.
In past interviews, the multi-awarded actor has also said that he needed a rest from all of his life’s hullaballoo.
Four years later, he is now a father to baby Elias and he credits the positive changes in his life to his son with Ellen.
