Recognizing Filipino workers who continue to go through different challenges during the pandemic, the Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) celebrated Labor Day with the official turnover of the commemorative painting by Kristine Lim, entitled LUWALHATI (Do Everything for the Glory of the Lord).

The ceremony was held at the DoLE head office, with Labor Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III, director Raul Francia, Randie Tojos and pastor Rodel Buban of Christian+Collective in attendance, together with employees.

The artist was present virtually via video call to witness the event.

Lim was recovering from Covid-19 when she finished the artwork, exemplifying the commemorative painting’s embodiment of the God-given spirit of endurance and courage of Filipino workers.

The painting will serve as a memento of the unfaltering and sovereign power of God, strengthening Filipinos to push forward beyond boundaries to strive and work hard for their loved ones and the country.

The artwork was commissioned and donated by Sustainable PH and Christian+Collective with the cooperation of Galerie Francesca.
