On April 25, the Toronto Reference Library transformed into a magical and mysterious forest celebrating the wonder of words when the Toronto Public Library Foundation held its Biblio Bash. The event raised more than $1 million to support the TPL, with significant funds earmarked for the TPLF’s Newcomer Community Initiative, which will allow the library to launch new resources in 40 languages and expand outreach for newcomer programs and services. More than 425 guests and dozens of notable Canadian authors packed the sold-out black-tie gala presented by Fitzrovia, for which comedian and author Ali Hassan hosted and the Toronto Star served as media sponsor.
