Embracing the spirit of holiday giving, Senator Christopher “Bong” Go and his team spent Rizal Day, giving away relief supplies to workers.
Go distributed the aid at the Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club in Davao City.
“Naintindihan ko na hirap ang hanapbuhay ninyo na maraming bawal, may social distancing at sa daming protocols na dapat natin sundin,” the senator told the workers as he urged them to continue to cooperate with the government in following the health protocols that would ensure their safety.
Go’s team provided meals, food packs, vitamins, masks, and face shields to a total of 328 workers which included caddies and umbrella carriers.
Selected beneficiaries also received new shoes while others were provided with bicycles so they can easily and conveniently commute to work despite limited transportation options. Additionally, those with children studying at home under the blended learning set-up were given tablets.
“Sa mga bata, pagbutihin n’yo ang pag-aaral ninyo dahil ‘yan ang magpapasaya sa magulang ninyo. Ang edukasyon ang magiging puhunan ninyo sa mundong ito,” he continued.
The Senator, who serves as chair of the Senate Committee on Health, emphasized the importance of keeping workers and workplaces safe.
“Ituloy natin ang bayanihan sa bagong taon para tuluyan rin nating malampasan ang pagsubok na ito,” he urged.
