MANILA, Philippines — Filipino mixed martial artist Jackie Buntan will be defending her ONE Women’s Strawweight Kickboxing championship as she takes on Austria’s Stella Hemetsberger next year.
The two will headline ONE Fight Night 40 at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on February 14th.
Buntan previously missed out on the opportunity to be a two-sport against the 26-year-old Austrian, who dashed her dreams of becoming a fighter who holds both kickboxing and muay thai titles back in September.
In their ONE Fight Night 35 matchup, Hemetsberger grabbed the unanimous decision victory over the Filipina to become the strawweight muay thai titlist.
But Buntan will now try to protect her crown this time around.
In the same event, Lions Nation MMA stalwart Danny Kingad will face off against Hu Yong in a flyweight MMA action.
Kingad will try to return to the winning column after absorbing four losses in his last six matches, including two straight against Yuya Wakamatsu and Adriano Moraes.
Hu, on the other hand, is also coming off back-to-back losses against Sanzhar Zakirov and Reece McLaren.
