There can only be one Highlander, and Henry Cavill might be it.

Man of Steel’s Cavill is in talks to star in the Chad Stahelski reboot of Highlander, but no news yet as to what character he will be playing. But according to Variety, Cavill will be one of two leads in the upcoming film.

But he might be, yet again, another character whose force is to be reckoned with.

Highlander follows Scottish swordsman Connor MacLeod and his quest to fight fellow immortals in the present time to win the fabled “Prize” against the evil, murderous Kurgan. The original Highlander film saw Christopher Lambert as the lead.

Seeing him on the Netflix series The Witcher, fans are excitedly awaiting his performance in the reboot. But there’s a discourse on whether Sam Heughan, a Scottish actor, would be better suited for a role in it, if not MacLeod.

Stahelski (John Wick) will helm the direction with Kerry Williamson on the script. Neal H. Moritz, Josh Davis, and David Leitch will produce while Amanda Lewis, Patrick Wachsberger and Gregory Widen will executive produce.

Cavill has his hands full filming the second season of The Witcher and after signing up to continue being Sherlock Holmes again in another Netflix original movie Enola Holmes. He is well known for being Superman in the DC Extended Universe films Man of Steel (2013), Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), and in the Justice League (2017).
