MANILA, Philippines — Savi Davison went supernova as PLDT overpowered Farm Fresh, 25-20, 25-17, 25-19, on Tuesday to keep its stranglehold inside the magic four in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
Davison was nothing short of spectacular as she unleashed a match-high 26-point effort that she loaded with 23 kills in just three short sets to propel the High Speed Hitters to a 6-3 record.
Angelica Alcantara, a rookie setter out of Adamson, was given a chance and also showed her mettle and dished out 12 excellent sets while chipping in four hits for a PLDT squad bracing for a much-awaited confrontation with league leader Creamline on February 15 at the Ynares Arena in Antipolo.
“I’m very happy with the win considering we'll have a very big game next,” said PLDT coach Rald Ricafort.
Mika Reyes also came through, chipping in 10 hits, while fellow middle blocker Majoy Baron contributed eight points.
It was a game to forget for Farm Fresh as none of its players ended up in double figures, with Trisha Tubu leading her team with nine points.
Rachel Daquis, playing her second game since missing more than a year of absence, had slowly but surely searched for her game rhythm and managed to contribute four hits on this one.
The Foxies fell to 4-5.
