New as it is in the market, Dr. Shiba — a European holistic dog wellness brand that launched in the Philippines — has been enjoying the support of furparents who want to supplement their dogs' diet.

To give back to the community, the brand has forged a partnership with animal welfare group Pawssion Project.

“One of our advocacies is anchored towards animal welfare. This is where we want to build a community where caretakers — dog owners and furparents — are committed in providing supplements available to their pets,” Dr. Shiba co-founders Tim Michael and Philipp Rennern shared in a media roundtable.

“We all want what's best for other dogs, whether they are sheltered or not. And thus, the partnership with Pawssion Project came about,” they added.

Founded in October 2018 by Malou Perez, Pawssion Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of dogs in distress. Perez — a dog lover who always dreamt of building up a shelter — established the safe haven for dogs in Bacolod. Today, it has a second home in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.

Since its establishment, Pawssion Project has rescued 2000 dogs and cats and regime 1000 of them. To date, more than 600 fur babies are still in their care, all of them needing food and health essentials to survive.

“That's why we are grateful that a start-up like Dr. Shiba, chose to partner with an organization like us because we appreciate every partnership that we get. It will help us go a long way in this battle for animal welfare,” Perez said.

As for Dr. Shiba, the executives said, “By partnering with Pawssion Project, we help support their mission to rescue dogs and provide them with a safe and enriching environment until they can be adopted. In addition, we want every dog in their care to be well looked after by giving them daily treats that can improve their physical and mental health.”

For those who want to join this endeavor, simply purchasing Dr. Shiba treats will go a long way as a portion of every purchase will be directly donated to the organization.

Currently, Dr. Shiba has three dog supplements treats available — Happy Tummy, for healthy digestion; Jolly Joints to strengthen joints and hips; and Silky Fur to provide dogs with perfectly shiny and soft fur.

Dr. Shiba is now available online. Visit https://www.facebook.com/bydrshiba for more details.
