Drug den dismantled, 5 suspects nabbed in Subic

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – A suspected drug den was dismantled in Subic, Zambales that resulted in the arrest of five suspects on Monday.

Col. Romano Velayo Cardiño, provincial director of the Zambales Police Provincial Office, on Tuesday said those arrested were identified as Mary Rose Fernandez, 31, a resident of Purok 1, Barangay Matain, Subic, and tagged as the drug den maintainer; Erickson Sanico, 41, of Barangay Bangal, Dinalupihan, Bataan; Calixto Alpazine Jr., 51, of Purok 1, Barangay Calapacuan, Subic; Jojie Cabariban, 27, of Barangay Sto. Tomas, Subic; and Ariel Pamintuan, 37, of Barangay Payumo, Dinalupihan, Bataan.

Cardiño said joint personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office III, Subic Municipal Police Station, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and Provincial Intelligence Unit conducted the anti-drug operation in Barangay Matain.

He said the operatives confiscated during the operation 15 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of PHP150,000, buy-bust money, and several drug paraphernalia.

The arrested suspects and pieces of evidence were brought to the Subic Municipal Police Station, Cardiño said.

“We are ensuring that your Zambales PNP (Philippine National Police) is continuously conducting operations against all forms of criminality. Activities on the prevention of further transmission of the Covid-19 are also aggressive in the province,” Cardiño said in a social media post. (PNA)
