Ex-UP standout Abadiano joins KBL’s Ulsan Hyundai Mobis

MANILA, Philippines — Former University of the Philippines Fighting Maroon Gerry Abadiano has signed with the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus in the Korean Basketball League, the team announced Wednesday.

The 5-foot-11 Abadiano, who played for the San Juan Knights in the MPBL, will join the Mobis Phoebus, which won just 18 of their 54 games last season.

“Gerry Abadiano has signed an Asian quota contract with the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus,” the team’s announcement, as translated via Google, read.

“Please look forward to Abadiano showing his power in the 26-27 season.”

Abadiano won two titles with UP in the UAAP.

He is expected to bring his perimeter game, as well as hard-nosed defense, to the KBL.
