The post features a black and white photo of Romero with the text, “Rest in Peace, Chanda Romero. February 26, 1954 – October 11, 2025.”
The caption reads, “MALUNGKOT NA BALITA: Veteran Actress na si Chanda Romero, pumanaw na sa edad na 71 pasado 2:00 ng hapon ngayong araw (October 11, 2025) dahil sa atake sa puso. Ang aming taos-pusong pakikiramay.”

The facts: No news reports or any credible sources confirm the claim. On October 12, lawyer and film producer Joji Alonso denied rumors of Romero’s supposed death, saying the veteran actress is “very much alive,” according to an Inquirer report.
Romero has also been active on social media. On October 11, she shared a photo of herself with her husband on her Instagram story. She also reshared a reel on her account on October 13.
On October 10, Romero uploaded a poster for her upcoming film, Call Me Mother, an official entry to the 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival, featuring actors Vice Ganda and Nadine Lustre.
‘Batang Quiapo’: Romero played the character of Olivia in ABS-CBN’s Batang Quiapo. Her character was killed off and died in the September 18 episode. In an Instagram post, CCM Film Production and Dreamscape Entertainment thanked Romero for portraying Olivia in the hit TV series.
