For your at-home beauty fix

How long has it been since you’ve had a haircut — or how long did it take before you could get a really good one?

The pandemic has meant no visits to salons, nail spas and aesthetic centers until the government deems it safe. But meanwhile, we still have to feel our best while going about our drastically changed lives.

At-home solutions are easy for those who can google some kitchen ingredients to use, it’s true. Still, for those of us who continue to wish for more hours in a day to do everything, concocting an egg white facial or giving yourself a mani-pedi remains a dream.

Fortunately, some new and innovative products have arrived to make life a little easier as we struggle to remain upbeat in these trying times.

Here’s a quick rundown:

‘Poreblems’ no more

From the experts on brows and pores comes the Porefessional Super Setter, a pore-blurring makeup setting spray that resists sweat, water and smudging on the skin. Why is this important?

Virtual meetings are now the norm, so we should keep skin looking fresh and healthy. We don’t have to hide behind a mask all the time, and even when we do, how do we keep the cosmetics from smudging the fabric? Beauty hack: spray the inside of your mask with the Super Setter, let dry for a few seconds and be assured of makeup that stays on the skin for hours.

The product’s pore-blurring formula and ultra-fine micro-misting spray ensure a light feel and easy coverage.

Shake the bottle and spray with or without makeup for a fresh look on your next Zoom conversation.

The new Porefessional Super Setter is now available at Benefit stores (where you can now get your brows done again!) and its online outlets.

Hybrid lip treatment is the rage

From the company that makes beauty easy to achieve comes the future of lip products.

Issy & Co., which has been coming out with one innovative product after another, has unveiled its latest offering: The Hydragloss.

Concocted during the quarantine, this new Issy & Co. must-have is full of surprises.

Joel Andrade, co-founder of the brand, and beauty consultant Silvina Lopez share the benefits of a lip product that is both “tinted and functional.”

“We shifted our mindset as it was supposed to be a lip gloss. It developed to be more of a lip treatment with a glossy finish,” Andrade said.

Because they are committed to creating cosmetics that “look good on you but are also good for you,” they filled this new line with humectants (which hydrate) and occlusives (which moisturize) such as shea, jojoba and refined coco oils.

Now you can collect all four shades that you can use individually or incorporate with your existing lipsticks. Have hydrated and glossy lips under a mask or without, and look put-together without too much effort.

Lippies that are versatile, fun and good for you, this is a trend that will just keep on going.
