It's all systems go for this weekend's “National mWellness Day” with a growing number of volunteer doctors, health experts and mental health advocates joining forces with the mWell health app for the biggest nationwide online medical mission.

mWell by Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (PSE: MPI) keeps its promise of bringing healthcare closer to Filipinos with complimentary online consultations from August 27 to 28. This program is the app's response to the need for medical advice to help Filipinos rebuild their lives in this new normal.

The event, first held in September 2021, is mWell's biggest yet, with the surge of family doctors, specialists, and even mental health experts from all over the country to be on call, for free, for every Filipino.

Doctors from Makati Medical Center Foundation and Makati Medical Center Wellness Center likewise volunteered their time to provide free online consultation via the app.

Recognizing the importance of holistic well-being, mental health experts from MindNation also signed up to offer free counseling. Besides the volunteer doctors, National mWellness Day 2022 is strengthened by partnerships in one fully integrated platform. Among those powering up the advocacy with MPIC Foundation are top insurance companies, PhilCare and Generali, pharmacies Unilab, MedExpress, 24 Alkaline-C and PiCur antioxidant are also on board.

mWell's flagship advocacy is part of MPIC's sustainability mission to make quality healthcare accessible for all. On the event dates, anyone can talk to an expert from the comforts of home for free.

Those interested should simply download the mWell PH app, register, click the National mWellness Day banner, and use the Health Pass code: FREECONSULT. They can then choose from volunteer primary care doctors, specialists, and mental health experts. After the consultation, the doctor shall provide a medical certificate, e-prescription, and referrals for tests.

The annual event began in September 2021 with the theme of “compassion that cures.” Using digital technology through the mWell app, access to healthcare is made more convenient sans the on-ground face-to-face medical mission but from the comfort and security of the patient's home. Health concerns can be addressed from any location giving anyone timely medical advice from experts.

This year, as Filipinos begin rebuilding their lives and livelihood within the “new normal,” primary care, specialized doctors and mental health experts will be a few taps away, ready to provide much-needed medical advice. Booking fees and doctor fees will be waived this weekend.

On top of the free consultations, the first one hundred patients will receive vitamin vouchers from MedExpress and Watsons, with free shipping. They will also be given free laboratory exams, including x-ray and complete blood count, and emergency outpatient coverage valid for one year.

The pillars of mWell's Advocacy program — Metro Pacific Investments Corporation Chief Finance, Risk and Sustainability Officer Chaye Cabal-Revilla and MPIC President, Chairman and CEO, Manny Pangilinan — said that this advocacy shows mWell's compassion in action.

“Healthcare is a basic right. Our advocacy of bringing healthcare closer to more Filipinos is part of our sustainability anchor. We are truly passionate about making a difference in the lives of our countrymen through our responsive, highly convenient platform,” said Revilla.

National mWellness Day also supports the MVP Group's Gabay Kalusugan advocacy focusing on quality and affordable healthcare. MPIC President, Chairman and CEO, Manny Pangilinan noted, “Filipinos now have better access to healthcare through mWell's integrated digital healthcare ecosystem with a wide and sustainable network of medical experts and services.”
