MANILA, Philippines — After seeing his Brave Combat Federation debut delayed due to injury, Drex Zamboanga is hungry to prove that his “best performances are still ahead” of him.

The 32-year-old Zamboanga has now fully recovered from a lateral collateral ligament injury that derailed his Brave FC debut, which was set to kick off in May last year.

“I have been away long enough, and I am hungry to compete again. I signed with Brave CF to fight, and I want to maximize this contract,” he said in a statement.

Fresh off signing a multi-bout deal with the fighting promotion, Zamboanga was initially scheduled to make his promotional debut back in May against unbeaten Bahraini standout and ranked lightweight contender Ramazan Gitinov. But his injury forced him out of the contest just before fight week.

Now, Zamboanga has been medically cleared to resume full training.

“My body feels great now,” he shared.

“The rehab was tough, but it worked. I am healthy, I am training at full intensity again, and I am starting to feel my groove come back every day.”

And now, he voiced excitement for the fresh start.

“Brave CF gives me the chance to reset, to prove myself again, and to rekindle my career in 2026. I believe my best performances are still ahead of me.”

Zamboanga owns a 14-6 professional record with 11 finishes.
