Gaming devices still dominate Acer’s Philippine market

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines continues to cement its place as one of Acer’s strongest markets in the region, with the brand once again posting industry?leading numbers across all major device categories.

In a yearly recap during the Asia-Pacific Predator League press conference, executives across the Asia-Pacific region met with members of the media to discuss the brand's 2025 performance.

The Philippines was No. 1 in Acer’s gaming devices, as well as in four other markets namely, notebooks, consumer desktops, commercial education and commercial government.

For Acer Philippines' Managing Director Sue Ong-Lim, the company’s long-running success in the country is not just a matter of maintaining momentum but also the result of years of strategic event-building, deep engagement with the youth market, and a growing esports ecosystem that consistently translates crowd energy into actual sales.

“When we did Predator League in Manila, more than 50% market share din kami noong February, the month after. So makita talaga natin, you know, these marketing activities aren't just noise, they really drive results, they drive numbers,” Ong-Lim said in an interview with Filipino media.

These spikes reflect how gaming culture fuels device demand among Filipino consumers as Acer’s growth continues to be shaped by how Filipinos show up for gaming events. Whether it is Predator League or Acer Day, the company sees massive foot traffic whenever the local community is in play.

In 2026, the country is set to host a major celebration as multiple milestones align: 50 years of the Acer brand, 10th year of Acer Day, and 20 years of Acer being the consistent market leader in the country.

"Actually, ang dami milestones this year. So, siyempre ang challenge lagi is to outdo ourselves. It's challenging. Actually, it's more challenging to maintain rather than to be the underdog and try to attack. Now, the PC market, ang importante sa 'min is the demand is there and demand is growing," said Ong-Lim.

One particular demand that Filipino gamers have is handheld gaming devices. With Acer having introduced its Nitro Blaze devices, there is still a lot to consider if it will be making its way to the Philippine market.

"We are doing a lot of research about the market in the Philippines. Kung may chance, yes, definitely [we will have it in the local market]. Kasi nasa pipeline naman siya in the roadmap,” said Ong-Lim.
