Senator Christopher “Bong” Go’s office personnel distributed assistance to public market vendors in Tanay on 5 December.
The vendors were given meals, food packs, masks, face shields, vitamins, bicycles and computer tablets for schoolchildren.
Personnel from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) provided separate financial assistance to the beneficiaries. Representatives of the Department of Trade and Industry, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, and National Housing Authority also conducted separate assessment and validation for the possible assistance to be given to the beneficiaries from their respective offices.
The Department of Agriculture will also provide Kadiwa Financial Grant for Farmer Cooperatives and farmers.
During his video message to the beneficiaries at the Tanay Gymnasium, the senator told locals they may conveniently avail of medical assistance from Malasakit Centers near the town.
Currently, the nearest Malasakit Centers in Tanay are located at the Antipolo City Hospital System Annex IV, Margarito Duavit Memorial Hospital in Binangonan, and Bagong Cainta Municipal Hospital in Cainta to seek medical assistance.
Meanwhile, Go said he and President Rodrigo Duterte will make sure the poor and the vulnerable, as well as frontliners, are prioritized once a safe and effective vaccine for COVID-19 becomes available.
