Two individuals associated with the ousted mayor Alice Guo of Bamban, Tarlac were deported back to the Philippines following their arrest and detention in Indonesia.

Shiela Guo, the mayor’s sister, and Cassandra Li Ong, a Lucky South 99 incorporator, were accompanied by armed personnel from various law enforcement agencies, including the National Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Immigration, Manila International Airport Authority – Police Department, and Philippine National Police Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT).

They were immediately placed under arrest upon their arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport around 5:00 p.m.

According to the Directorate General of Immigration in Indonesia, they handed over Ong and Guo to the Philippine Immigration Bureau and deported them back to the Philippines.

It stated that the two women, along with two other persons, who are still at large, are “wanted by the Philippine government for immigration violations and are prime suspects in transnational crime cases.”

The arrest was made by Batam Immigration officers based on a request from the Department Of Justice, Bureau of Immigration Philippines on Aug. 19. The authorities continue to work together to arrest the other fugitives.

It was learned that a Singaporean national assisted the four in making hotel reservations at the Harris Hotel Batam Center.

It was reported that Alice Guo, along with her companions and family members, fled from the Philippines to Malaysia, and then traveled to Indonesia and Singapore.

There are allegations that Guo plans to travel to China to avoid facing charges in the Philippines. Guo is allegedly involved in illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) and faces other administrative and criminal charges.
