‘The Suicide Squad’ will introduce new characters.
Harley Quinn and Captain Boomerang are the only ones back in the band of supervillains to help save the world in the first, full-length trailer of The Suicide Squad that just dropped last 27 March.
After the success of Zack Snyder’s Justice League after its premiere on HBO Max, DC Universe enthusiasts can look forward to this supervillain flick’s screening on 6 August.
The Suicide Squad is a standalone sequel to the 2016 Suicide Squad, which was directed by David Ayer while this upcoming supervillain flick has the Marvel’s Guardian of the Galaxy franchise director James Gunn.
The Suicide Squad introduces a new team of supervillains to do the world-saving this time around.
Viola Davis and Joel Kinnamen, who plays Amanda Waller and Col. Rick Flag respectively, are reprising their role along with Margot Robbie and Jai Courtney. Will Smith bowed out from playing Deadshot due to scheduling conflicts.
However missing a few from the past Task Force X, Quinn, and Captain Boomerang are joined by new faces — Idris Elba as Bloodsport, Michael Rooker as Savant, Daniela Melchoir as Ratcatcher 2, and John Cena as Peacemaker, among others.
There’s also a walking, talking humanoid shark, which is voiced by Sylvester Stallone.
After seeing the trailer, fans are commenting that the upcoming supervillain flick is “off to a great start.”
The Suicide Squad will arrive on HBO Max this 6 August.
