The Star’s Theatre Club continues with The Shaw Festival’s production of Funny Girl on Saturday, June 27.
Before the show, you’ll receive a note from the Star’s senior arts critic Joshua Chong, giving you some background on this beloved play and what he’ll be looking out for in this production. After the play you’ll cross the street to Zee’s Wine Bar & Grill for dinner and a chance dissect the show with Josh and an intimate group of like-minded theatre goers.
Funny Girl tells the story of Fanny Brice’s unlikely rise to Broadway stardom and her tumultuous relationship with gambler Nick Arnstein. One of the most popular scores of all time, the musical features, “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” “People,” and “My Man.”
