MANILA, Philippines — There is a new Golden King on the block.

Kiefer Ravena is taking his talents to Okinawa, signing with the Ryukyu Golden Kings after a few years with the Yokohama B-Corsairs.

The 32-year-old guard’s signing was announced by Ryukyu on Friday.

“We are very pleased to welcome Kiefer Ravena to the Ryukyu Golden Kings. We believe that Ravena is a player who can read the flow of the game, bring momentum to the team in all aspects of scoring, assisting, and defense and lead the team with calm judgment in crucial moments,” the team’s translated statement read.

The contract will be for the 2026-27 season.

“Furthermore, we expect that his extensive experience and leadership, gained from competing in numerous international tournaments as a member of the Philippine national team and having been a top player in Asia for many years, will be of great value to the team,” the squad added.

“In addition, we believe that Ravena's addition will have great significance for the club, not only in terms of competition but also in creating connections with the Philippines and other parts of Asia.”

The Golden Kings finished as the runner-up in the past season after falling in three games against the Utsunomiya Brex.

But now, the powerhouse squad will be adding Ravena, who averaged 11.9 points, 3.2 assists and 1.8 rebounds for Yokohama in the past season.

The B-Corsairs won 26 of their 60 games.

Ravena, for his part, voiced excitement on his new chapter.

“I'm very excited to be part of the Ryukyu Golden Kings. As one of the top organizations in the league, I'll be ready to do my best to represent the city of Okinawa and the fans of the Kings.”
