Last call for entries

The deadline for entries to our annual holiday contest Pasko Sa Enero, presented by the Philippine Sports Commission, is just a few days away and this is the final call to join the fun. You have until Monday, Jan. 5, at 5p.m. to submit your answers to three questions and essay through email ([email protected]), Twitter/X @TheDeanQuinito), Instagram (@therealdeanquinito) or Facebook (Joaquin Henson). All entries must contain the name of sender, age, occupation (if student, what school, year, course), home address and contact details (cell phone/email address).

Please avoid sending multiple entries. One entry is sufficient. We’ll choose 20 winners. The awarding of prizes will be at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11, in the pathway outside Starbucks Molito, Alabang.

First prize will be P50,000 cash and a load of gifts, including the brand-new Molten premium composite leather BG4550 basketball, signed Magnolia jersey, La Salle basketball shirt with autographs of Archers players and coaches, canned goods and many others. Second prize will be P20,000 cash and gifts, third prize P10,000 cash and gifts, fourth to 10th prize P5,000 cash and gifts and 11th to 20th prize P3,000 cash and gifts. Tomas, Batangas and Casa Miani Orphanage of the Somascan Order in Katarungan Village, Muntinlupa.

The three questions are: (1) Who were the Finals MVPs of the UAAP and NCAA men’s basketball championships this season? (2) Who was the Philippines’ most bemedalled athlete at this year’s SEA Games? (3) How much is the first prize in EASL this season? Additionally, write down your choices for the ultimate 12-man roster for Gilas if/when the national team qualifies for the 2027 FIBA World Cup. Criteria for selecting the best essays are effort in explaining choices, creativity, sensibility, practicability and logical analysis.
