LEGO exhibit featuring Statue of David, Mona Lisa extends Manila run

MANILA, Philippines — The "Brickman Wonders of the World" exhibit featuring famous world landmarks and icons made out of LEGO bricks is staying in the Philippines a little longer.

Initially set to close on February 8, GMG Productions announced that the LEGO exhibit will run an extra month until March 8 at The Space at Solaire.

The company's chief executive officer Carlos Candal said in a statement that they wanted to ensure more families and young guests get the chance to visit the exhibit and be inspired by it.

"'Brickman Wonders of the World' is more than just a display; it's an experience that sparks creativity, curiosity, and a love for learning," Candal added. "Extending the run allows us to share that experience with an even wider audience."

The exhibit is the brainchild of Ryan McNaught, the eponymous Brickman who is one of several LEGO Certified Professionals in the world and the only one in the Southern Hemisphere.

McNaught and his team of LEGO brick artists spent hours building the exhibit's pieces, some of them composed more than 164,000 pieces.

Standout pieces are the towering Statue of David and the Mona Lisa right across from it, made from 33,473 and 27,011 LEGO bricks, respectively. Both took more than 100 hours to make.

Familiar world landmarks include India's Taj Mahal, Italy's Leaning Tower of Pisa, Singapore's Merlion, and United States locations, the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge and Empire State Building (with King Kong).
