Three-time defending NCAA men's basketball champion Letran has reached an agreement with Bacoor City Mayor Strike Revilla to be the main backer of the Knights for the coming Season 99.

Barbie Atienza, an alumnus of the Intramuros-based school, confirmed this development as Revilla takes over the management of the team from a financial standpoint following a meeting Tuesday night.

“It's a done deal, he'll be the main supporter of the team come Season 99,” said Atienza.

The decision of Revilla, according to Atienza, is not surprising since the public servant is also a graduate of Letran.

Present during the meeting with Revilla were Letran coach Bonnie Tan, who has led the team to titles in seasons 95, 97 and 98. Tan, however, will be the team's consultant this year after he was appointed interim coach of NorthPort in the PBA.

Also in the meeting were incoming Letran coach Rensy Bajar, Rando Ochava and Alex Wang, as well as Letran Alumni Association president Hansel Tillman, and officials Angie Mendoza, Joey Uy and Wayne Ochava.

Letran remains to be a title contender in Season 99 even without graduating key players Fran Yu, King Caralipio and Louie Sangalang.
