THE Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Wednesday that the low pressure area (LPA) off Misamis Oriental is likely to escalate into a tropical depression in 48 hours.
Pagasa in its 4 p.m. advisory said the LPA is currently over the coastal waters of Laguindingan town, also in the province.
“The weather disturbance has a chance to develop into a tropical depression within the next 48 hours,” the state-run weather agency said.
The LPA is bringing light to moderate with at times heavy rains over Bicol Region, Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga Region and Davao Region, Pagasa said.
It added that flooding and rain-induced landslides are possible in these areas.
