
MANILA, Philippines — Philippine Tennis Academy players Tennielle Madis and Stefi Marithe Aludo secured the girls' doubles title in the ITF J30 Manila 2 at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center hardcourt Saturday.
Madis and Aludo, who will see action in the Southeast Asian Games in Thailand next week, downed second seeds Gyuree Nam and Seojin Park of South Korea, 6-1, 6-4.
Meanwhile, Madis defeated No. 5 Nam, 6-2, 6-3, to set up a title duel with another Korean, No. 3 Park.
Park ousted No. 2 Aludo, 6-3, 6-3, in the other semifinal match.
In the boys division, top seeds Gyeom Do of South Korea and Ruochen Gao of China were crowned doubles champions after prevailing over second seeds Ariyaphol Leekul and Napal Pattanalertphan of Thailand, 6-3, 6-1.
In the singles, No. 2 Gao won over first leg champion Aoi Ishizaki of Japan, 6-4, 6-3, in the semifinal.
Gao advance against fifth seed Kango Endoh of Japan, who upset top-seeded Do, 6-3, 7-5. (Pool story)
