MANILA, Philippines — Philippine Tennis Academy member Tennielle Madis swept the second leg of the ITF J30 Manila following her triumph in the girls' singles Sunday at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center hardcourt.

The 18-year-old from M'lang, Cotabato displayed her brilliant form to beat third seed Seojin Park of South Korea, 6-4, 6-1.

Last Saturday, Madis and PTA teammate Stefi Marithe Aludo defeated second seeds Gyuree Nam and Park, 6-1, 6-4, to secure their ninth ITF juniors title.

This year, they won the prestigious PCA Open, inaugural Gentry Open and the Olivarez Open last week.

"Good win as they set to compete in the SEA Games, their morale is high," said PTA head coach Bobie Angelo, a many-time Davis Cupper and Southeast Asian Games multi-medalist.

"The girls have a solid mindset, a solid hungry spirit," added Angelo, who will assist women's team head coach Denise Dy in the SEA Games scheduled December 9-22 in Thailand.

Meanwhile, fifth seed Kango Endoh of Japan lifted his first boys' singles trophy after pulling off a 6-3, 6-2 upset win over second seed Ruochen Gao of China.

"I'm very happy, and played my best today," said the 15-year-old from Kanagawa Prefecture. He won the first leg doubles title with singles champion Aoi Ishizaki.

On his way to the final, Endoh ousted No. 4 Napal Pattanalertphan of Thailand (6-1, 6-0) and No. 1 Gyeon Do of South Korea (6-3, 7-5).

Gao and Do captured the doubles title, prevailing over second seeds Ariyaphol Leekul and Napal Pattanalertphan of Thailand, 6-3, 6-1. (Pool story)
