Malabon LGU holds job fair for 4Ps beneficiaries

The local government of Malabon City conducted a job fair for over 650 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries held at the Malabon Sports Complex on Tuesday, June 11.

The city’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO), in coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), has offered 1,481 job opportunities to the beneficiaries.

Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval said the job fair aims to improve the quality of life of the Malabueños.

“Sa atin pong pagtugon sa mga pangangailangan ng ating mga mahal na Malabueño, ating sinisiguro na matutulungan natin sila na kanila ring mapabuti ang kanilang pamumuhay gamit ang kanilang sariling mga kakayahan at galing. At bilang parte ng ating layunin na ipagpatuloy ang pag-ahon ng bawat isa, na walang maiiwan, ating isinasagawa ang mga job fair upang ilapit sa ating mga kababayan ang mga oportunidad na tiyak na magtataas ng antas ng buhay at tutulong sa ekonomiya dito sa Malabon (In responding to the needs of our beloved Malabueños, we ensure that we help them improve their lives using their own skills and talents. As part of our goal to continue uplifting everyone, leaving no one behind, we conduct job fairs to bring opportunities closer to our fellow citizens, opportunities that will surely uplift their quality of life and contribute to the economy here in Malabon),” she said.

City Administrator Dr. Alexander Rosete said the job fair will also help enhance the learning and skills of the beneficiaries.

“Ang pagkakaroon ng disente, maaayos, at magandang trabaho ay tiyak na makakatulong hindi lang para sa pinansyal at pangaraw-araw na pangangailangan ng mga Malalabueño, kung ‘di pati na rin sa kanilang pagkatuto at paglinang ng kanilang mga kakayahan na maaari nilang magamit para sa kanilang kinabukasan (Having decent, stable, and well-paying jobs will not only help meet the financial and daily needs of Malabueños but also contribute to the learning and development of their skills that they can use for their future),” he said.

The participating companies offered positions such as service crew, aircon technicians, auto cut and sew operator, chemical engineer or food tech, driver, forklift operator, electrical maintenance, housekeeping, and printing operator.

They were also looking for mason machine operators, plumber, quality assurance inspector, spare parts custodian, storage helper, truck mechanic, utility man, welder, accounting staff, cashier, customer relations specialists, marketing staff, machinist, and kitchen staff.

Senior High School graduates are also welcome to apply for job opportunities offered by the participating companies, PESO said.
