LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte – An 18-year-old man died in a freak road accident here on Friday night, July 26.
Police identified the victim as Romuel F. dela Cruz from Cagayan and Barangay 37, Calay-ab, this city.
Investigation said Dela Cruz crashed on the pavement when the side wheel of a modified tricycle or “kurong- kurong” he was riding suddenly detached on the Suba-Paoay Road in Barangay 40 Balatong at about 10 p.m.
Dela Cruz died from serious head injuries.
The driver and other passengers were unhurt.
Another man died in a motorcycle accident in Barangay 7-A here almost two hours later at 11:30 p.m.
Police identified the victim Eugene Guerrero, 26, a resident of Barangay 7-A, Nuestra Senora de Natividad.
The victim lost control of the motorcycle due to slippery road and crashed into a concrete street light post.
He died due to head injuries.
