MANILA – The Manila Cathedral will hold in-person Masses at a limited capacity in celebration of the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Wednesday

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, the cathedral said the faithful can join private prayers and eucharistic celebrations at 10 percent seating capacity.

“In celebration of the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Manila Cathedral will open its doors to the faithful for private prayers from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Holy Mass at 7:30 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. will also accommodate the faithful at limited capacity,” the post added.

The attendees are also reminded to follow strict health protocols.

“Mass-goers need to bring their QR Code from Staysafe app. Face masks and face shields are required,” it said.

The Manila Cathedral added that “All celebrations will still be streamed online for the thousands who are safely staying at home.”

“Please note that this is only for September 8,” it said.

The Catholic faithful celebrates the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

In August 2019, President Rodrigo Duterte signed Republic Act 11370, declaring September 8 of every year as a special working holiday in the country to commemorate the religious occasion. (PNA)
