Mati City completes first phase of E-Library

DAVAO CITY – The city government of Mati announced on Monday, January 8, that the first phase of its first-ever E-Library on Quezon St. outside the City Hall compound has been completed.


MATI City has completed the first phase of its E-Library.

Mati City Information Office head Ben Tesiorna said the construction of the Mati E-Library started in 2022 with Phase 1 funded by P15 million from the fourth tranche of the Omnibus Loan Term of the city with the Landbank of the Philippines (LBP).

Tesiorna said the city government is awaiting the LBP approval of the fifth loan tranche to proceed with Phase 2 of the E-Library construction. He added that an additional P10 million will fund this phase, ensuring that the people of Mati can fully utilize the facility.

The E-Library is a two-story building.

The first floor has information counter, computer laboratory, exhibit area, activity area, exhibit and seminars area, and two comfort rooms.

The second floor has a conference room, another computer laboratory, a librarian area, and a reading area.

Mayor Michelle N. Rabat, in Executive Order 57, Series of 2021, said that the city government of Mati recognized the need for libraries to provide data and materials for life-long knowledge and learning, research, and leisure.

The E-Library is free for the people of Mati who want to conduct research, print documents, or study.
