
MANILA, Philippines — Meralco Bolts guard Chris Newsome is listed as day-to-day after a knee injury he sustained during Game 3 of their PBA Philippine Cup semifinal matchup with the TNT Tropang 5G on Friday.

With 2:01 remaining, Newsome seemingly extended his knee after teammate Chris Banchero forced a charging foul against TNT’s Rey Nambatac.
He did not return, but Meralco was able to hang on and grab the victory, 97-89.
In a message to Philstar.com, Bolts head coach Luigi Trillo said Newsome’s ACL and MCL are intact.
However, it is still unsure whether Newsome will be able to play on Sunday’s Game 4.
“Good news is ACL [and] MCL are intact. He's listed day-to-day,” he said in a message.
“Game time decision for him [depending] on pain,” he added.
Newsome had 17 points, five assists and four rebounds in Game 3 before he exited the contest.
He is averaging 16 points, 4.3 assists and 4.0 rebounds per contest in the semis.
Game 4 is on Sunday, 5:15 p.m., at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
