ONE of the main suspects in the killing of Negros Oriental governor Roel Degamo has been arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla said on Friday that the arrested suspect is considered one of the “main players” in the assassination of the governor.
The Justice chief did not provide additional information regarding the identity of the suspect — whether he is a politician or a former military personnel — just like the other suspects who are now under the custody of authorities.
Likewise, he did not divulge the circumstances that led to the arrest.
Because of the development in the case, the filing of the complaints against the other suspects in the killing that had been scheduled on Friday did not push through.
At least two to three suspects involved in the March 4 killings are still being hunted down by the police.
Twelve suspects are now under the custody of the NBI.
