The City government of Ozamiz in Misamis Occidental on Saturday has ordered the closure of a mall due to noncompliance with minimum health protocols, particularly social distancing.
Pastor Rolando Acaac, Chief of the Permit Division of the City Administrator’s Office, in a statement, said the management of the Gaisano Capital Mall has been warned several times on the non-compliance of the standard health protocols but to no avail.
“The mall management has been warned on social distancing but no action has been taken, thus, prompted the city hall to impose the closure order,” he said.
Acaac said the mall will be allowed to re-open as soon as it submits a letter of explanation to the Office of the City Mayor relative to the violations as well as other requirements prior to reopening.
He said the mall must explain why it violated the minimum health standards by not monitoring the social distancing among customers crowding inside the mall.
