President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has released P1.2 million in humanitarian aid and additionally prepared over P3 billion for residents affected by Typhoon “Aghon.”

“We shared over P1.2 million in humanitarian assistance, and we prepared over P3 billion worth of standby funds and prepositioned goods and stockpiles to ensure broader and faster aid for our fellow countrymen affected by typhoon #AghonPH,” Mr. Marcos said in a statement.

The President assured that government agencies will continuously ensure the welfare of the public during the typhoon.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that Aghon, with winds up to 140 km/h, is currently 105 kilometers east of Baler, Aurora. It is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility late Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the country’s weather bureau said flooding and landslides are possible in high-risk areas.

Aghon is forecast to intensify over the next two days before weakening as it moves northeastward.
