House Minority Minority Leader ACT Teachers Party-list Rep. France Castro castigated Vice President Sara Duterte on Tuesday afternoon, June 25 after the latter revealed her family’s supposed political plans.

“This is the height of bureaucrat capitalism, where a single family wants to control every aspect of a nation’s politics,” Castro said in a statement.

“Ginagawang negosyo ang pagtakbo sa posisyon sa gobyerno (They’re turning into a business the practice of running for positions in government),” added the Makabayan solon.

Earlier, Vice President Duterte gave an uncharacteristically candid interview to reporters in Cagayan de Oro wherein she spilled the beans on her family’s plans for the upcoming elections.

(According to my mom, it is my younger brother, Baste Duterte, who will run for senator. He will run for president in 2028. My mother said I’ll go back to Davao, and run for mayor.)

The Vice President’s other sibling, Paolo Duterte, is currently Davao City 1st district congressman. The patriarch of the very popular family is of course, former president Rodrigo Duterte, who allegedly is eyeing a Senate run himself.

(From VP Duterte’s words we can see the signs of the all-out war between the two ruling actions. These are the Dutertes who back China, and the Marcoses who back the US.)

Castro called on Filipinos to remain vigilant and to resist “these attempts by political dynasties to monopolize power and perpetuate their rule at the expense of democracy and the interests of the masses”.
