MANILA, Philippines — PBA games on Sunday, November 9, have been postponed due to Typhoon Uwan, the league announced on Saturday.
The PBA, in a statement, said that the two games to be held at the Ynares Center in Montalban will be rescheduled.
On Sunday, TNT is supposed to take on Magnolia in the curtain raiser, while Barangay Ginebra is set to face Titan Ultra in the main game.
“In light of the incoming Super Typhoon Uwan, and with the safety of our fans, players, officials, and staff as our top priority, the PBA has decided to POSTPONE its Sunday, November 9 games,” the PBA said.
“Please stand by for the updated schedule of games, which will be announced soon through our official channels,” it added.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Saturday morning, "Uwan" was spotted 680 kilometers east of Borongan City, Eastern Samar.
Several areas in Luzon and Visayas were placed under Signal No. 2 as of the 10 a.m. weather bulletin, while areas throughout the entire country, including Rizal, were classified under Signal No. 1.
Pagasa earlier said the highest wind alert that may be issued is Signal No. 5.
