Picking Emann’s Beatrix over Valentina an easy call for RSG, says Demonkite

RSG Philippines gave full confidence on Eman “Emann” Sangco’s mastery of the Beatrix hero to the point that the MPL PH champions picked it over Valentina which has been a staple in the ban section of the drafts throughout the MSC 2022 so far.

With the series tied 1-1 heading into the crucial Game 3, RSG was put in a tricky situation during the draft where it had to choose between Beatrix and Valentina, two of the most contested heroes in the current META game, for its opening pick.

RSG went with Beatrix which allowed Falcon Esports to take Valentina in its own opening pick – a ploy that worked wonders for the Filipino bets.

RSG jungler Jhonard “Demonkite” Caranto revealed that the decision was an easy call for RSG since the Filipinos are confident with their chances when Emann has his hands on the Beatrix and against the Valentina picks.

“Nung scrims po kasi nung nakakalaban namin mga Valentina, parang walang nanalo sa amin na Valentina users,” said Demonkite in the aftermath of their 2-1 victory over the Burmese team.

“Super confident po kami sa Beatrix ni Emann kaya yun po yung first pick namin nung game 3,” he added.

Emann didn’t disappoint as he unloaded a near-perfect 6-1-2 line to power RSG to the crucial Game 3 win and advance to the upper bracket semifinals. It was a fitting bounce back game for Emann who struggled to make an impact in RSG’s Game 2 comeback loss.

RSG, though, managed to correct their mistakes in the following games especially with their communication in the late game.

“‘Yung naging adjustment namin nung game 2 papuntang game 3 siguro yung communication po kasi yung communication namin ng Game 2 di malinaw kasi parang nakikisabay kami sa ingay eh, yung ingay ng crowd, yung ingay ng kalaban,” explained Demonkite

“Parang sinasabayan namin yung energy nila, kaya nung game 3 mas naging kalmado kami, mas naging malinaw yung shot calls namin,” he added.

RSG now awaits the winner of the match between Orange Esports of Malaysia and its sister team RSG Singapore to be their upper bracket semis opponent.
