Pinoy lifters bag one gold, one silver in World Youth Championships

The national junior weightlifting team started its campaign on a high note by winning one gold and one silver medals in the 2023 IWF World Youth Championships being held in Durres, Albania.

Prince Keil Delos Santos and Eron Borres completed a 1-2 punch in the men's 49kg. division to earn the first two medals of the country in the world meet.

Delos Santos scored 92 kgs. in snatch and 113 kgs. in clean and jerk for a total lift of 205 kgs. to top the event.

For his part, Borres had 201-kg. total lift on 87 kgs. in snatch and 114 in clean and jerk to secure the silver medal.

India's Dhanush Loganathan pocketed the bronze with 88 kgs.s in snatch, 112 kgs. in clean and jerk, and 200 kgs. in total. THE MANILA TIMES
