OFW Party-list Rep. Marissa “Del Mar” Magsino has expressed her “deep concern” over the deadly car accident that took place on Sunday morning, May 4 at the departure area of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1.
“Our international airports serve as the face of our tourism industry and the gateway for our Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), who rely on these facilities for safe and efficient travel,” Magsino said in a statement.
“As such, NAIA must uphold the highest standards of security and safety. We urge the authorities to investigate the incident and review existing airport security measures,” she said.
“We also urge all relevant agencies to ensure that the victims receive sufficient medical assistance and support. Additionally, all passengers whose flights have been affected must be provided with proper assistance and compensation,” added Magsino.
The reelectionist says the party-list “stand[s] in solidarity with those impacted by this incident and reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that our airports remain secure, efficient, and safe for all travelers”.
“We will continue to monitor developments and work closely with authorities to ensure accountability and necessary improvements in airport security protocols,” Magsino further said.
