MANILA, Philippines — Four teams — one trying to restore order; another eyeing to establish a new one; and two seeking to forge a sibling finale — face off in a pair of critical semifinal showdowns Saturday in the PVL All-Filipino Conference at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Creamline aims to close in on a return trip to the finals since making it that far two years ago and a shot at an 11th title as it takes on a PLDT side eyeing a third crown in their 6:30 p.m. duel.

A possibility of two Manny V. Pangilinan franchises colliding in the finals is looming large as Cignal is tackling Farm Fresh, which is making its breakthrough semifinal appearance, in the other semis duel at 4 p.m.

A sister act title showdown is nothing new in the league as sibling rivals Creamline and Choco Mucho fought a pair of championship matches in this same conference in 2023 and 2024.

But standing in the way are the battle-scarred Cool Smashers, who are hoping to muster their old championship-winning form and reclaim their old place at the pedestal.

That is the reason Creamline’s charismatic captain Alyssa Valdez is pleading with his teammates to step up big.

“All of the teams in the semifinals have beaten us in the eliminations and qualifying round,” said Valdez, whose squad is 1-1 versus Cignal and 0-1 against PLDT and Farm Fresh.

“So it’s a very interesting semifinals for us, and we really have to work harder and smarter,” she added.

Despite it, Valdez vowed to give it her all in her quest for another shot at glory.

“Almost every game is a do-or-die game. That's why my mentality is to really give it all because we know we have nothing to lose,” she said.
