MANILA, Philippines – In a quick ceremony in Malacañang Palace on Monday, January 5, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. signs the 2026 national budget into law.

It’s the first budget under his administration to be signed this late. It’s also the first that’s backdropped by a flood control scandal that’s rattled his administration.
