ILOILO CITY – Iloilo first district Rep. Janette Loreto-Garin denied allegations of Davao City first district Rep. Paolo Duterte that she maneuvered the impeachment of his sister Vice President Sara Duterte at the House of Representatives on Wednesday, Feb. 5.

“It’s very malicious. Whoever fed him the info should come out and face me,” said Garin.
Duterte claimed that she was behind the “desperate and politically motivated” move at the House.
“The sinister maneuvering of certain lawmakers, led by Rep. Garin, to hastily collect signatures and push for the immediate approval and transmittal of this baseless impeachment case is a clear act of political persecution,” said Duterte.
Garin stood her ground that she only did her duty in signing the impeachment complaint. “I signed since it’s my constitutional duty,” she said.
“Who am I to maneuver my colleagues? We were invited to a party consultation where officers explained the articles of impeachment. I was present, though late,” Garin added.
