Joining the two are mainstays Kiefer and Thirdy Ravena, Dwight Ramos, Ray Parks Jr., and Carl Tamayo, while Jamie Malonzo and Chris Newsome were first-timers in the national team roster released by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas on Thursday, Aug. 25

Returning to the national team duty are Calvin Oftana, Japeth Aguilar and PBA Season 46 MVP Scottie Thompson while PBA free agent Roosevelt Adams was the final cut and relegated to the team reserve list.

“I think it’s still the best 12 among the 13, I’m hopeful with the team and with all of your support. Win or lose, let’s just support the team. Chot might keep the same 12,” said Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas president Al Panlilio when asked about the Gilas lineup during the One Year To Go Media Conference at the TV5 Media Centre in Mandaluyong.

“Roosevelt is also there to gain experience, for the coaches to see him how he can play with the team. Whether he’s given a chance to play in Saudi, it’s a coach’s call on Sunday,” he added.

Gilas plays an intact Cedars at 2 a.m. Manila time.

The 2022 FIBA Asia cup silver medalists will be once again led by tournament MVP Wael Arakji and naturalized player Jonathan Arledge, along with Ali Haidar, and Hayk Gyokchyan. Sergio El Darwich was the only member of the silver medal team that was not included in the lineup against Gilas.
